A fall, Fruit Punch, and High Risk...

If you haven't been keeping up, I'm sure you are wondering what the heck all three of the things in the heading have in common, so let me explain...

This morning started off okay.  I was up at 4 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep.  At 6:30 I got out of bed, did my normal morning routine and got ready to start my day, as Paul was coming to bed.  By 7:30 I was sitting back in the bedroom watch West Wing on t.v. with Paul drinking, you guessed it, fruit punch.  No, this wasn't regular fruit punch, this was a sweeter version of it.  Let me tell you, it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.  Today was my glucose testing to see if I have gestational diabetes.  So you have to chug this bottle (fortunately, it's not a big bottle) and then head to your doctor.  Which leads me to...

As I was walking to my car to head to my OB appointment, I missed a small step, and fell.  No worries though I didn't fall all the way down, just landed on my right knee and caught myself.  My right knee hurts like heck, is bruised, and has several scrapes and cuts...oh and it's a little swollen.  Luckily, I reached out with my right arm and caught the side of my car, thus preventing further injury.  My car has a small dent in it by the driver's side headlight, but all in all the car is okay, lol!  So after sitting on the ground assessing my injuries, then finally getting up and getting into my car, I texted Paul.  At this point, he'd finally fallen asleep...poor guy!  I sucked it up and headed out.  I told him about the fall, that I was fine and on my way to the OB.

Little Cora was kicking and as happy as could be at the doctor.  I think it was a combination of the fall and the sugar rush!  Dr. Allen was a little concerned but said since I had an appointment later that day, she would wait to see the results.  Cora's heartbeat was in the 150s, my blood pressure was fine, and Cora was kicking and moving around...so Dr. Allen was okay with waiting.  Which leads me to...

At 2:00 we went to see the high risk Dr. due to my placenta previa.  The tech, Jamie, was funny and Cora, being her usual self did not was to show her head.  That's okay, Jamie knew all the tricks to move her around and get what she needed.  Everything looked good for Cora.  Four chambers of the heart, brain, arms, legs (ankles crossed of course), and everything looked great!  Cora is still a Cora so that's a relief, no male parts magically appeared.  Jamie then examined my cervix and SURPRISE!!  The placenta has moved away from my cervix.  Not a lot, but hey we didn't think it was going to move at all.  Guess I better plan on attending some birthing classes soon!!

Then Dr. Cuthrell came in to double check a few things and try to get Cora to cooperate.  Of course, she didn't.  We have another appointment with their office in 3 weeks to see if they can look at where the umbilical cord attaches to Cora and look at her face to see if she will have a cleft lip.  I'll admit, I'm a little worried.  I figure God has blessed us this far and we've coped with everything thrown at us in the last 2 1/2 years that this should be a walk in the park...right?? lol...wishful thinking...

So Cora weighs 1 lb 9 ozs and is measuring the perfect size for my due date November 9, 2011 here we come!!

Yes, we know we woke you up quit yawning lol!!  She's got a big mouth like her mommy :)
